Cacti occur in a wide range of shapes and sizes. They range in appearance from multi-angled to being practically spherical or cylindrical shaped. Some cacti have soft wool, feathery looking spines while others have long, sharp spines. Each species of cactus presents its own unique appearance and individual style. This research analyzes the characteristics that arise from combining images of cacti and hair pieces, and the creative fashion designs based on this concept. Hair pieces are widely used in the performing arts. The use of a hair pieces is not merely for hair styling. The characteristics of unconventional material can also be present in fashion styling as well. A literature analysis method was adopted in this study. The design inspiration is obtained by studying cacti, including the areoles, wool, and the ranks of spines. The study applies the concept of bionic design by observing the silhouette, colors, texture and lines of cacti. Then it tries creating a new design element for the fashion industry based on the images of cacti, natural plants with a variety of appearances. The new fashion elements can lead to the creation of meaningful products with aesthetic value that are functional for use yet are artistically beautiful. The results of this study can hopefully one day be used as a reference for fashion design that utilizes unconventional material. Hui-lun, Hung 洪繪侖 2016 學位論文 ; thesis 138 zh-TW |
