Description
Summary:碩士 === 嘉南藥理大學 === 休閒保健管理系 === 104 === Abstract Background This study recruits adults who have learned Ukulele and focuses on how they improve their music literacy and senses of delights to further acquire self-esteem. By providing elderly and adults with this easy-to-play instrument and connecting between hands and brains, they would accomplish physical and mental health and obtain more self-esteem. Method We execute the study with questionnaire survey procedure, and conclude expertise, literatures and essays in this field along with long-term educating experience questionnaire of researcher and musical specialists. Subjects are 400 adults who have learned Ukulele in our musical institution, and purposive sampling is conducted and selected out 233 samples. The questionnaire is scored by Likert scale. We aim on whether there are significantly positive impacts between self-esteem and the variables, including improvement of music literacy, the mental enhancement of delightfulness and the augmentation of the value of identity between oneself, family and friends, among adults who have learned Ukulele. Statistically analysis is performed by SPSS with the following three steps: 1. Use multiple regression analysis with variables- self-esteem and the value of identity 2. Practice factor analysis to investigate total variables, rebuild the factor perspective and re-do the regression analysis 3.Cross analysis over population statistics and self-esteem, and then compare self-esteem in different population statistics. Result We attain three results which are 1.There are significantly positive impacts between self-esteem and the value of identity. 2. Based on the questionnaires, the multiple regression analysis reveals four out of seven factors having significantly positive impacts. 3. Cross analysis over population statistics and self-esteem has reached significant difference. Discussion As for conceptual identity, results show a significant positive relation between self-esteem and the value of identity between oneself, friends and family. However, realistic outcomes of multiple regression analysis reveal four out of seven factor perspectives have significantly positive impacts, in other words, despite the conceptual consensus, it still requires practicing time, knowledge of music theory and teachers. Furthermore, educational counseling should be modified for keeping pace with different population statistics. We suggest that Ukulele should be more promoted and these results would be hints for potential teachers, government and future researchers. Meanwhile, hypothesis and proposes are given out and are expected to bring up guidelines and reference for promotors to raise policy suggestion and educating practice in the future.
