Over the years, renovation of old school buildings and teaching environment as well as rehabilitation of teaching facilities have always been planned around the philosophy of sustainable development, in the expectation that the development of Taiwan school campuses can reach a sustainable, ecological and healthy goal. In order to make campus rehabilitation and renovation cope with the requirement of times and meet environmental, economical and sustainable principles, this research, through literature analysis, discussed the correlation between campus sustainable planning and green building indice. Initially 9 major assessment items and 28 assessment subitems had been developed through experts’ interviews; expert questionnaire based on Delphi method was then used to get expert consensus for the establishment of a sustainable campus environment rehabilitation diagnosis and renovation assessment framework with 9 major assessment items and 20 assessment subitems. After that, Analytic Hierarchy Process was applied to obtain absolute and relative weights for each assessment items and subitems by building contrast matrice to facilitate the establishment of a scoring table for sustainable campus rehabilitation diagnosis and renovation assessment. Based on the scoring table, diagnosis was made for two case schools—Guanghua Elementary School and Hsichou Elementary School in New Taipei City to reach the following conclusion: New Taipei City Guanghua Elementary School has 5 items urgently to be reinforced, 5 items to be improved and 10 items passed the assessment with an overall score of 62.914. The items urgently to be reinforced are utilization of regenerative energy, design of easy disassembly for recycle or reuse, disposal of kitchen waste composting, planning of building material usage, and management of water usage efficiency. New Taipei City Hsichou Elementary School has 5 items urgently to be reinforced, 9 items to be improved and 6 items passed the assessment with a total score of 61.778. The items urgently to be reinforced are reservation of wildlife habitat and moving channel, diversity and multilayer planting, shaping of the native plant environment, utilization of renewable energy, and design of easy disassembly for recyle or reuse.
