Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 運輸科技與物流管理學系 === 104 === Over the past few years, due to prevailing trend of environmental protection, bike riding has become a part of people’s daily lives for recreation, exercise or transportation. The government has also aggressively endeavored to build an environment friendly to cycling. As far as elementary school students are concerned, biking safety deserves more attention. This study is designed to evaluate effect of enhancing safety cognition of upper-grade elementary school students by field experiences. Aiming at 2015 upper-grade students of Da Feng Elementary School located in New Taipei City, this study conducted ‘Experimental Research’ for 2 classes being ‘Experiment group’ and 2 classes being ‘Control group’, to analyze primarily by Quantitative data, and secondarily by Qualitative data. Research tools include quantitative ‘Test of biking safety cognition’, qualitative ‘Reviews of field experience’, ‘Reviews of field experience – interview summary’, and ‘interview with teachers’, etc., to analyze through Descriptive statistics, Independent-Sample T Test and Paired-Samples T Test. Below are the conclusions: (1)Field experience can enhance safety cognition of bike riding: After making homogeneity inspection on ‘Experiment group’ and ‘Control group’, and excluding the influence of prior knowledge, ‘Experiment group’ scored higher in pro-test than ‘Control group’. And, after a period of time, result of tracking test shows ‘Experimental group’ still keeps memory of cognition. It is proved this experimental field experience has significantly helped upper-grade elementary school students to enhance safety cognition of bike riding. (2)Teachers hold positive attitudes for field experience of bike riding: By field experience, students can personally operate, experience, and do necessary adjustment on their own. It helps to strengthen cognition memory via body movement. Therefore, teachers hold highly positive attitude and support to realize biking safety via field experience. (3)Students have high expectation and satisfaction for experienced learning: Field experience is beneficial to educate students about biking safety. Most students showed interest in this experienced learning by careful listening, hard practicing, and actively asking questions. They feel interested in group activities, and look forward to attending relevant classes. Finally, per this study, suggestions are offered as reference for relevant schools, teachers and following research-makers.
