碩士 === 中華大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 104 === As the internet population grows and increase of high-speed broadband users, internet service providers must provide more reliable and stable network. Network management system can maintain the reliability and stability of the network. Cacti is an open source software of network management system which can manage a variety of network devices or servers via SNMP protocol. Cacti users can rewrite the software and install plug-in modules. Cacti have three new functions by installing plug-in modules: Monitor, realtime, and weathermap. 1) Through the system, network managers can quickly identify which equipment is currently unable to connect. 2) Get real-time monitoring for a single status of network devices. 3) By combining network topography with monitoring charts produces a “live” topography, network managers can grasp the whole state of network environment. This thesis developed two functions: Quick Link and Sort / Filter. "Quick Link" allows network managers can directly open the WebUI screen of network device. "Sort / Filter" can sort devices in accordance with the value of monitor item, and set the threshold of monitor item according to different network environment. And System can automatically identify which item possilbe causes network failures or service shutdown.
