Summary: | 碩士 === 中華大學 === 企業管理學系 === 104 === In recent years, the increased development of social enterprises has become the world-wide current, as well as in the industry, government, and academia in Taiwan. That more and more people get involved into the social welfare service with commercial model shows the expectations of the whole society – to achieve advantages of profits, to help the needy, promote important public welfare issues, improve the conditions of society in the meantime. This research was motivated from ManFair sheltered workshop in Hsinchu, which provides a protective environment and gives employment opportunities to assist the disables, transformed to the social enterprise in 2015 and encountered their predicaments. In the transposition process, the main task of the shelter workshop is to cope with the challenges, produce high-quality products in accordance with the market, become a successful enterprise with profits, and persist the assertion of public welfare concernment as well. Therefore, this research seeks to find out the critical success factors of the transformation from sheltered workshop to social enterprise. Additionally, to provide the concrete suggestions to social enterprise managements to promote the competitiveness.
To achieve the research purposes, through literature discussion and analysis related with social enterprise studies, this research concludes six dimensions as follow: “social values”, “management strategies”, “product management”, “marketing management”, “human resources”, “financial management” and below are thirty factors in total. As for the research methods, first, this research delivered the questionnaires and in-depth interviews to scholars and experts, who major in this field or are the real founder or operator of social enterprise, to improve accuracy, and then analyzed data with Delphi Method. Second, according to the results of the first section, the second experts’ questionnaires were provided to conclude the critical success factors through DEMATEL, which clarified efficient causality among the factors.
The results demonstrate the priority of success critical factors of transformation from sheltered workshop to social enterprise. “Manager’s professional ability” plays a core role in management and operation. Other crucial factors according to priority are “professional ability of internal staff”, “arrangement and cultivation of human resources”, “statement of public welfare values”, “inner relationship of organization”. Also, the consequences and effects after investigating resources can be observed through the factors of “skills of marketing strategies”, “implement of public welfare mission”, “quality and quantity of products”, “exterior resources and strategic alliance”, “Manager’s professional ability”. Moreover, to determine whether the social enterprise steps on the track lead to success.
