Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 科技管理學系 === 104 === The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationships among materialism, compulsive buying, time affluence and subjective well-being of junior high school students in Taoyuan. This study used questionnaires to collect the required information. It was analyzed with item analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, independent-samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and regression analysis. Results of a survey of 502 students showed that (a) Nowadays, the SWB perception among the junior high school students only presents moderate; the performance of materialism is nearly moderate; when it comes to compulsive buying is quite high as well; whereas it appears relatively low to time affluence. (b) Gender on SWB, compulsive buying and time affluence, there were significant differences. Boys on SWB were significantly higher than girls; girls on compulsive buying were significantly higher than boys. (c) Students who had pocket money on compulsive buying were significantly higher than students who didn’t have pocket money. (d) Students who didn’t have to participate in cram school on time affluence were significantly higher than students who had to participate in cram schools. (e) Materialism and SWB had significant correlation, but materialism didn’t have significant negative effects on SWB; materialism had significant positive effects on compulsive buying, time affluence had significant positive effects on SWB; compulsive buying had significant negative effects on SWB.
