碩士 === 中華大學 === 科技管理學系 === 104 === With the rapid advancements of technology in modern times, diversification of sources of knowledge and the educational reforms in recent years, it is hard for junior high school teachers to face junior high school students who have difficult times dealing with their bodies and minds. Teenagers are curious about self, life goals, and meaningful life. Students need to explore and search for identity, and so do their teachers. If the junior high teachers clearly understand the meaning of life and its unique mission, he or she will involve in the teaching work and obtain more accomplishment. With the faith and confidence in teaching, it will be helpful for the teachers to lead more students to find their goals in life. The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between sense of meaning of life, work values, and the self-efficacy of junior high school teachers. In this study, the teachers of junior high schools in Taoyuan County were selected as the study subjects to conduct questionnaire survey research, adopting stratified proportional sampling. A total of 491 questionnaires were distributed and 455 were valid with 92.7% availability rate. After the questionnaires were collected, statistical software package SPSS was used to conduct the data analysis, such as descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA analysis, statistical analysis, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression, and the major results were summarized as follows： 1.Sense of meaning of life, work values, and the self-efficacy of junior high school teachers are higher than middle level. Regarding “sense of meaning of life”, “the freedom of will” has the strongest perceptions and “the will to meaning” has the lowest perceptions. Junior high school teachers has positive attitude toward work values, especially in “leisure health” whereas “organizational security” is the lowest. Regarding “self-efficacy”, “instructional strategies” leads to highest level whereas “student engagement” leads to lowest level. 2.Significant differences are found on the part of sense of meaning of life in consideration of teachers’ diploma degree and with/without children. 3.Significant differences are found on the part of teachers’ work values in consideration of teachers’ job position and with/without children. 4.Significant differences are found on the part of the self-efficacy in consideration of teachers’ gender, marital status, religion, teaching experience and job position. 5.Positive relationships exist between sense of meaning of life and work values. 6.Positive relationships exist between sense of meaning of life and the self-efficacy. 7.Positive relationships exist between teachers’ work values and the self-efficacy.
