Their interior has a lot of combustible material which often causes a fire. It is necessary to understand the characteristics of such buildings and activities, in order to facilitate the prevention of disasters and efficient fire-fighting, as well as successfully rescue trapped people.
From case reviews, people in residential-style temples were lack ideas of fire and disaster personnel, and they were weak and need fire training. Relevant laws are not explicitly defined and regulate residential-style temples, thus it can’t effectively prevent the occurrence of disasters. Taking the Shuikou Minzhu King Temple for example, on-site field survey found that there were a large amount of sundries outside, even fireworks, firecrackers, and so on. And the fire division was also destroyed. In case of fire, it will be out of control. Such situations are general for residential-style temples in Taiwan. It is worth attention to improving the relevant events for authorities.
