Since the financial industry in Taiwan is in competitive environment, with increasing economic activities, more firms decided to invest in China. Also, if Taiwanese banks invest in China, it provides opportunities to invest overseas and solve financing issues for Taiwanese firms. This study intends to explore strategies of government banks and private banks dealing with finance market opening in China, and discusses their degree of internationalization, operational goals, entry mode and international strategies in China market. Taking government and private banks as case studies, the results of this research are as follows. First, the reason why government and private banks enter in China is to follow customers. Second, the main goal of government banks to get into China is market expansion, but for private banks, product and market expansion is the main goal. Third, both government and private banks use wholly owned subsidiary to get into China market with fully control. Fourth, the main operating issues faced in China are personnel training, recruiting and talent mobility. Finally, multinational strategy is usually implemented in China market. With the mentioned above, the findings of this study provide practical efforts for enterprises.
