Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 企業管理系研究所 === 104 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship among leadership style of head nurses, ward climate and intention to stay. The questionnaires were distributed to 140 psychiatric nurses working at six hospitals locate in 3 cities of southern Taiwan including Kaohsiung, Tainan, and Chia-yi. 133 valid observations were collected which yield 95% valid rate and analyzed with SPSS software. Descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and multiple regression were applied in this study. The results showed that transformational leadership were positively correlated to intention to stay while transactional leadership were negatively correlated. Leadership styles of head nurses have significant impacts both on ward climates and intention to stay of nurses. This study also provides suggestions for nursing industry and future research.
