碩士 === 真理大學 === 宗教文化與組織管理學系碩士班 === 104 === The chinese folk religion in Taiwan; people believe land god. They call him Tudigong, and a lot of people believe Tudigong will bless daily needs. Some researcher has been has study of Tudigong’s Religious sphere or ceremony, but not yet on the case studies like the topics on Tudigong’s god’s rank or jurisdiction or function . In Taiwan Chinese folk religion, Tudigong is close to people because Tudigong’s low rank in god’s stratum. The special in Tudigong’s jurisdiction is that He rule over the living people and the death, which is not common with other gods in Chinese folk religion. The research of this case study will try to reveal that Tudigong’s jurisdiction could eventually altered by His social environments. This case study conducted in the region of Chung-Ho district in New Taipei City. The Hongludi Temple is regarded as the largest Tudigong Temple around the area, because of its long history and also because of its obtaining of strong support from some local powerful families. Believed by its many followers to be the most efficacious Tudigong, the Hogludi Temple develops its parish of the folklores belief much more wider than any other Tudigong temples in the region.
