Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 經營管理碩士班(領導學程) === 103 === Although everyone has the same amount of time, they recognize time in a different way. In the workplace, people with different time awareness should perform differently. Besides, intrusion, a kind of interruptions at work, often happened. However, literature in the past discussed more directly on intrusions and work performance rather than the interaction of intrusions. This research aimed to examine the effect of time urgency and intrusions on work performance. The hypotheses were as below: (a) time urgent people may have better performance than non-time urgent ones; (b) under intrusions, people with high level of time urgency may perform better than low level of time urgency ones. In this study, we used a survey method with 7-point Likert scale to verify the hypotheses. About three hundred and fifty-nine employees were our participants. Mostly, data was collected from information and communication industry. Result revealed that people with high time urgency have higher work performance than low time urgency ones. Moreover, when intrusions are more, time urgent people will perform much better than non-time urgent ones.
