After calibrating, it would create the polynomial equations that could represent a relationship between the image coordinate and PTZ control parameter, which is about a parameter of PTZ commands used to control the angle at pan and tilt axis or the focal length. The proposed algorithm can be divided into two independent calibration parts for optical zoom, and pan and tilt control parameter, respectively. The key functions are composed of template matching, homographical calibration, and data fitting. The flowchart of this two processes is similar. The first is to create a table recording a relationship between the image coordinate and PTZ control parameter. Then the polynomial regression is used to fit the table.
