The course of Dementia is long, and that makes it different from other diseases focused on physical care. Dementia patients’ mental literacy changes. In the beginning of the course, the symptoms are not easily perceived, and during the middle and the last stage of the course, the patients will not only become gradually incapable of looking after themselves but also become completely forget who they are. This unusual symptom makes family members and caregivers feel tremendously lost and guilty. Besides, the economic burdens it causes on families, the society and the nation cannot be taken lightly. This research is based on the method of document survey, probing and sorting out the issues about exploring Dementia, prevention and treatment, the mental conditions of patients and caregivers, policies, and care models from the different aspects of physiology, psychology and social support. This research also constructs a full view of the research of Dementia in our country by further investigating the references over the last decades. The physiological results suggest building up a good knowledge of Dementia, receiving medical treatment as early as possible, and keeping away from the risk factors of Dementia. Both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments can only slow the progression of this illness or improve its condition. They cannot completely cure Dementia. The related data of Dementia research in the psychological aspect are relatively insufficient. The results suggest deeply investigating the Dementia patients and the caregivers in the future in the psychological aspect. As for social support, there is still room for improvement in care policies and care models. According to this overall survey of Dementia, it is a research including medicine, psychology, sociology, etc. This research can only be a cross-field bridge, providing a reference for the future researchers to study Dementia.
