Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 工業設計系 === 103 === This study named Creative Design with Dual Personality. The term of dual personality adopt Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) of the category in psychological medicine, also named Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD). This study refer to the patients of DID with the feature of dissociated personality, and use the feature apply to the product design.
Dissociated personality occurred mostly because the patient was suffered great change in the childhood, and then develop the mental defense. The patient of dissociated personality in order to adapt to this society, second personality comes out with specific circumstances or environments. A split character will replace the patient's main character and cope with the problems. The patient of dissociated personality split the characters with no specific number, there are some clinical cases appeared with dozens of split characters in one patient. Patient only have two split characters is called dual personality. However, dissociated personality is considered a mental illness should be cured in general cognition, but the split character assisted the patient in the situation unable to face. In other words, the patient of dissociated personality has the capacity and diversity of various possible. Using this feature as metaphor in product design comes out positive significance.
DID patient react with second personality because of stimulate of external environment. On the other hand, product also have split characters because various users’ requirements, and satisfied user through functions and forms. There is a huge difference between main and second personality, therefore, the second personality has to concern about the problems and specific needs besides the main personality. According to the literature review summed up five variations including occasion, place, behavior, emotional, and experience to be the stimulating factors of split personality in product. In order to avoid too many variations in one product, the split characters in product focus on dual personality. This study refers to the treatments of DID as follow: (1) integration of personality (2) coexistence of personality, apply to the every single products. Trying to keep multifaceted and diversity of design, and satisfy with users’ requirements.
