For an elementary school, the stories behind the school emblems may contain historical implications, regional features, and educational philosophy valued by compulsory education. The current research illustrates the educational implications and philosophy contained in the design of the school emblems of Tong-Guang Elementary School based in Miaoli through literature review. With the approach of questionnaire survey in which teachers, students, and parents are surveyed to investigate if they acknowledge the designing idea behind the school emblems, relevant suggestions will be made based on the results of the surveys. It is expected that we can gain insight into how the personnel concerned at Tong-Guang Elementary School perceive the designing idea behind the school emblems, thereby comparing how differently they perceive it.
