However, participation in leisure activities is not the privilege of a minority. Children with mental and physical impairments must participate in recreational activities to increase opportunities of social participation as well as interpersonal interactions. This study adopts a case study approach. The selected research subject is a student suffering from Asperger’s Syndrome at the school where the researcher is employed. The interests and actual condition of the research subject have been taken into account. Through exploration of documents as well as Delphi Method questionnaire, we screened out and participated the types of recreation which will assist in stabilizing patient’s emotion. Results of this research are as follows: 1.After recreational participation, the breadth and frequency for negative emotion occurrence lower gradually. Specifically, hiking assists in relieving emotion and releasing pressure while percussion music serves as a resistant presentation against unstable emotions in the body because of the music’s simple beat, dynamics and regular speed. They all come with mitigation effect on patient’s negative emotions. 2.After recreational participation, From interaction with others, the patient experienced and observed self-emotions as well as emotions from others. As such, apathy and reflection were generated accordingly and the patient’s inter-personal relationship improved gradually. 3.The patient recreational established confidence and found interests in recreation. The patient learned to play percussion music, overcame difficulties in reading musical score sheet and rhythm, became fond of Jazz drum and even hoped of forming a band and performing worldwide when grow up.
