Through the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), it constructs a reasonable scale. First, by literature review, it constructs the possible factors of field trip location selection. Then the Modified Delphi Method questionnaire was used to screen and modify the original factors and generalizes 4 dimensions and 16 factors. Finally, the AHP questionnaire was used to construct the weights of factors of elementary school teachers’ selection of field trip locations. A scientific and reasonable scale of elementary school field trip location selection was developed as reference for instructional locations. According to the total weights, among the dimensions, instructional subjects are the most important (0.4795), followed by educational value of teaching materials (0.2172), and characteristics of instructional locations (0.2146), and finally, the operation and management of firms (0.0886). Among the 16 factors, the top 5 are students’ participation intention (0.3051), type of activity (e.g. leisure farms, museums, and amusement parks) (0.0976), number of students (0.0950), students’ grades (0.0799), and integration with school curriculum (0.0781). The scale of field trip location selection suitable for elementary schools in Taiwan developed by this study can serve as reference for decision makers’ field trip location selection in elementary schools of Taiwan.
