| Summary: | 碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 視覺藝術學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === The unique feature of picture books are the combination of verbal and visual levels, which are pictures and words. And the information in picture books can be efficiently conveyed also mainly through pictures and words. Therefore, this research focusing on the dimensions of picture and word combinations has been discussed and the following narrative strategy was built based on the discussion. The narrative strategy includes three dimensions, which are design of the story text structure, the symbols and implications of the story, and the format and style design of the picture book. In this research, these three dimensions were applied to a creation of a picture book 〈Great To Have You Around〉in order to bring up the issue of environmental conservation and the narrative strategy was provided as reference for future creations of picture books.
