Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 體育學系體育教學碩士學位班 === 103 === This study examines attitudes towards sport as a leisure activity among female elementary school teachers from different backgrounds in Taoyuan City, together with the constraints that these teachers experience in relation to their sporting activities, and the relationship between attitudes and constraints. The study makes use of a questionnaire survey, which was administered to female elementary school teachers working at public elementary schools in Taoyuan City in the 103 Academic Year. A purposive sampling approach was adopted, with a total of 600 questionnaires being distributed; 542 valid completed questionnaires were returned, giving a return rate of 90.3%. Data analysis was performed used descriptive statistics analysis, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA (independent samples), the least significant difference (LSD) post-hoc comparison method, Pearson’s product moment correlation measurement, etc. The results obtained in the study were as follows: (1) As regards the factors influencing the attitude towards sport (as a leisure activity) taken by female elementary school teachers in Taoyuan City, the factors that had most importance to the respondents were “psychological needs” and “health and fitness,” followed by “personal relationships” and “sense of achievement.” (2) The main constraints affecting participation in sport by female elementary school teachers in Taoyuan City were, in order of importance: “home and work responsibilities,” “personal factors,” “environmental and economic constraints,” and “availability of facilities and equipment.” (3) There were significant disparities in the factors affecting the attitude held towards sport among female elementary school teachers in Taoyuan City depending on how many years’ experience working as a teacher the individual had, the size of the school at which the individual taught, the specific teaching role played by the individual within the school, and whether or not the individual was required to teach physical education as part of their duties. (4) There were also significant disparities in the constraints reported by female elementary school teachers in Taoyuan City depending on how many years’ experience the individual had, their marital status, the size of the school at which the individual taught, and whether or not the individual was required to teach physical education. (5) Overall, a slight negative correlation was seen between attitudes towards sport as a leisure activity and the constraints reported.
