The self-narrative is employed to describe her fourteen-year experience of being an athlete of track and field from elementary school, junior high, senior high, through university. The athlete became a teacher and left the sports field. One coach’s word inspired her and motivated her participate in a new sport “racing.” When participating in national sports events including National Game, the researcher realized that the inseparable relationship between herself and track and field and the importance of track and field in her own life. During the practice, the researcher encountered the bottleneck of relearning the skills, struggles, and hardship, similar to the difficulties that her students faced. She felt sympathetic toward her children and son. Returning to the track and field helped her achieve self-affirmation. Moreover, her son is considerate of her hardship. As a teacher, she is more tolerant and sympathetic toward students. As a mother, she firmly believes that children who participate in track and field will never become bad kids. Instead they can carefully plan their daily routine. The research can gain the recognition from her teachers and coaches. All the benefits result from the track and field.
