The rapid development of information technology is digitizing people's lives. In the era of information technology, information technology is pervasive and largely manifested in education. Over the past decade, the “Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program” demonstrated that industry, government, and academic communities highly valued e-learning. Because the author participated in the “educational tour exemplary content and activities pilot program”, experiments involving innovative outdoor education have generated high interest. Hence, a pilot study began for the cloud services system, and the key component of the educational tour itinerary – tour itinerary instructor. We hope this research will help build a preliminary definition and evaluation of “educational tourism”.
This research utilized qualitative research method to interview several members of the “educational tour exemplary content and activities pilot program”. Using qualitative data analysis methods to analyze the interview data, along with investigation through relevant literature review; we probed the service content of “education tour cloud services system” as well as the position and capability of “educational tour itinerary instructor”.
Education tour cloud services system is an open cloud services platform, with sufficient reliability and convenience. This platform combines tourism and cultural education, provides in-depth tour and innovative learning services, expands the field of learning, and fuses learning and life experiences together to create a novel direction for learning.
Itinerary instructor of education tour is the soul of the education tour cloud services. It profoundly influences every process of educational tourism’s activities and progression and is an essential component for developing content, leading education tour, and promoting educational tours services. An appropriate tour itinerary instructor is one who has sufficient education attainment as well as an innovative enthusiasm for learning and adeptness at integrating information technology into teaching.
