Telemann had written more than 4,000 diversified musical masterpieces, which are amiable and approachable to the public. He popularized and marketed his own musical works by co-publishing the musical journal “Der getreue Music-Meister” with Johann Valentin Görner(1702-1762), which made his works really popular at that time. The first publication of his work “Sonata in C Major written for recorder and basso continuo,” which this thesis is based on, was included on that musical journal. We can know Telemann was excellent at playing recorder from studying his works. His songs are not just varied in the form but also incorporated many styles of different countries and cultures. The “Sonata in C Major written for recorder and basso continuo” is a church sonata, which has four movements arranged with different speeds of “slow-fast- slow-fast”. The first and the third movements of the sonata are touching melodies like the great Italian operas, along with the bunching and briskly French-bourree-style second and fourth movements, which thoroughly demonstrate the beautiful sound of recorders and also revealed the unique style of mixing with the best parts of different countries and cultures that the composer’s had developed. This thesis consists five chapters. Chapter one is introduction, including three parts: motivation, purpose and methods of the study. In chapter two, the development of German recorder during the Baroque period, the life of Telemann and his musical works are well studied. In third chapter, the musical compositions are analyzed, by the musical forms, tonality, idiom of phrases and harmony. In chapter four, based on studying the background and style of sonata in C Major and the analysis and interpretation of the composition, we explored how the actual playing of this musical composition to be performed, including the skills of playing recorder and the timing to introduce the ornaments. The last chapter demonstrates the insights of the study and the conclusion. Keywords: Telemann , Recorder, Sonata Chen, Jing-Hui 陳靜慧 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 59 zh-TW |

碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 音樂學系碩士在職專班 === 103 === Abstract
Georg Philipp Telemann(1681-1767)is a famous German musicians of the Baroque period.
