Abstract Action Research was taken as an approach in this study, in which there was a circular process included planning, action taking, observation, and reflection. First, investigate resources in the research field; second, after selection and integration, develop a series of teaching materials for high-grade elementary school students’ environmental education course; third, adjust the content of teaching material and discover student’s learning effect according to three-stage reflection and revision of teaching implementation in early, middle and late phases, including students' changes in cognition, affection and viewpoints of this theme after the course. In addition, the difficulties encountered during the process of implementation and the researchers’ growths after the course in professional fields are discussed. In this study, 29 sixth grade students of the researchers’ class, were selected as the subjects. The researcher designed the teaching course of garbage classification and recycling. Five units were included in the course and lasted for 14 hours. Research fields in this research included campus and incinerator. Collecting required data through teaching logs, student experience, Pre-test and Post-test, interview records, and feedback sheets. The results of this research are as follows: 1. Courses which involve videos and internet resources can inspire students’ motivation and interest by real life experience and activities, which can also achieve the purpose of teaching. 2. Diverse curriculum such as Jigsaw II, can effectively enhance students' awareness. 3. After course, students’ behavior in garbage classification and recycling have a remarkable change. 4. Parents and students have positive attitude toward the course of garbage classification and recycling, which take outside the classroom. 5. A course of garbage classification and recycling can make a great process in environmental education teaching. 郭大玄 2015 學位論文 ; thesis 161 zh-TW
