People rely on smart phones heavily to do Internet browsing, taking notes and contacting friends. Normally price of smartphone is expensive and it stores important data which people mostly need it everyday, the intention of having a protective case is getting higher and higher to prevent any kind of damages. Consequently, what is ideal protective case for consumers? The objective of this research is going to a deep analysis. By using QFD, we firstly look into various kind of protective cases available from market, then combing the questionnaire survey to understand the functional requirements from consumers. We then categorized three main functional factors that consumers would care the most. In addition, through the Matrix Data Analysis Chart to find the key factors of designing a smartphone protective case. The conclusions are: (1) Through the questionnaire survey, we found there are twenty-four factors that consumers care about.(2) Via Kano model and importance investigation to understand the requirements of smartphone protective case from consumers, which One-dimensional Quality was 「good appearance」, 「easy to use」, 「no obstacles」, and 「preventing scratches from panel and camera lens」.(3) Finally using QFD to get the weight of final execution and understand the significance from engineering, which includes 「industrial design」, 「material selection」, 「technique of tooling」 and 「technique of injection」.
