Inviting employees to become employee shareholders is a win-win strategy adopted by organizations as a means to bring high spirit to employees. Choosing employees in the hairdressing industry as research participants, this study proposes to investigate whether an employee stock ownership plan has effective impact on employees’ work engagement, and the task significance for employees. Meanwhile, this study also proposes to explore whether gender plays an interfering role in the relationship between employee stock ownership, employees’ work engagement, and the task significance for employees. Verification results show that employee stock ownership has a positive effect on employees’ work engagement and the task significance for employees. Gender has an interference effect on the relationship between employee stock ownership and employees’ work engagement, as well as the relationship between employee stock ownership and the task significance for employees.
