In this study, observe and record growth situation of plants to find suitable plants on roof. In addition, the researchers used thermal imager to survey the temperature of roof and find the efficiency of lower temperature. To expect that plant on roof can lower indoor temperature; and indirectly prevent heat island effect in the city. The study can be concluded as follows: 1. Plant on roof that fits Shenkeng area includes Crown of Thorns, Poison Bulb, Stringy Stonecrop Herb, Han-and-Chickens, African Asparagus, and Silver Hahnii. 2. Eco roofing plant should be low maintenance, free growth and mixed planting, but not emphasize on original species of Taiwan. 3. Roof Planting can effectively lower temperature on the roof.
