Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 民族音樂學研究所 === 103 === Zither stand is a common accessory to Chinese guzheng. Its main function is to stabilize the instrument so that performance can be carried out smoothly. Nowadays, the zither stands come in different and diverse styles and they are developing tremendously in their function and artistry. Zither stands not only support the basic requirements during a performance, they also have artistic form and aesthetic effect. In addition, shape evolution on the zither stands reflect the changing of mind, thinking, and requirement for the performance. From the development of the zither stands, we can see that the basic function of zither stands is no longer only to satisfy the performer's artistic and aesthetic needs. To improve zither stands' efficiency, we should have more comprehensive considerations on the design of stands. In this study, I have discussed the historical background and the evolution of the zither stands in modern time. I have also explored the function of zither stands for users and both the visual and acoustic properties during the performances. To focus on the functionality of zither stands, according to the patents reported from the internet of Taiwan and China, there are 9 main areas of focus as follow: ergonomic (suitable for the human body), stability, size regulation, material costs, pinch preventing, portability, folding and storing, operating probability on stage, and zithers' appearances. In the aesthetic part, i have discussed the look of the zither stands which contains the main body material, structure, decorative techniques, and the subject. Then, the discussions were applied to the aesthetic value of the stands on the stage. In the acoustic part, the B & K PULSE 3360C test was used to test the planar directivity effect from the angle of reflection plate on H-shaped stand. Further on, the frequency spectrum was analyzed by Cool edit pro 2.1 to know the differences of overtone series distribution from the different wood species and the various angle of reflecting plate.
