Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 103 === This artist’s statement details my creative path at graduate school, analyzes my state of mind, explains some of the negative ideas that informed this process and addresses the way in which my own life experience has been projected onto my art. This paper is divided into four chapters: Chapter one is titled “creating art is a record of life” and uses two daily objects to showcase my secret fear of loneliness and vent dissatisfaction with life. Chapter two looks at the interactive relationship of rearing a parrot and from there reflects on the connections between wearing a bird on jewelry and ink paintings of birds and flowers. This in turn leads me to project my emotions onto the paintings of BadaShanren (1626-1705) as a way of dealing with the sadness I feel. Chapter three discusses the role of language played by metal transfer printing techniques and uses images to showcase my feelings and dependence on “family.” Chapter four uses the “The Manual of Bird” as a creative foundation stone and the almost religious nature of the gradual process through which art is realized to clarify and analyze the work I produced as a graduate student, in an attempt to find inner answers to my reflections on creating art and loneliness.
