E-book will begin to change our lifestyle and reading habits. When traditional mode of reading will change to e-book mode of reading, whether the user&;#39;s reading habits and other issues affecting the reader metacognition? Metacognition refers to the ability of a person to generate awareness and adjust its internal cognitive process, including two types of activities, namely cognitive self-appraisal and cognitive self-management. Control of metacognitive reading, self-management-based, which includes self-plan, self-monitoring, self-tuning, and self-evaluation. In this study, exploring the relevant literature and operating the Information Transmission Media to compare reader&;#39;s metacognition and reading effectiveness. The dependent sample t test and independent sample t-test were used the data analysis method. The result were that use of paper book is easy to initiate metacognitive than the use of e-book, but the read time of e-book is shorter than the use of paper books. In reading and operating behavior, readers didn&;#39;t use built-in features of e-book, but will be use the tools (index and sticky notes) of paper book.
