According to the Council of agriculture, There are 5163 stray animals in Taipei city housed in 2014, of which 4251 are adopted, and the adoption rate has already reached eighty percent. At the same time, the adoption service of stray dogs become important. There are many factors which would influence adopters&;#39; emotions when they are doing adoption. And this emotion change could result in a waiver or urges to adopt, which would only harm the stray animals. In the research, I hope to reassess the processes of adoption service in stray animal shelter through the aspects of service design and tools, and to understand how do the adopters’ mood been affected during the process. Using eliciting rich experience design practices to improve the contact point in adoption service, and give the adopters the most appropriate emotional experience in the adoption process, finally provide improvement advice to animal shelter by putting the concepts of emotional transform design proposal into adoption service’s blueprint. Researcher design the adoption procedure in four stages: initial contact, adoption decision, fill out the questionnaire, and complete the procedure, each stage develop three design proposals, and a total of 12 cases. A final assessment of its effectiveness through questionnaires had showed that in the initial contact phase, 1 case might successfully eliminated the negative emotions and enhance positive for the people. Also, a significant help can be expected when people are making decisions and filling out the questionnaire. Finally, there are 2 cases had retrieved positive feedback at the last stage of “completed the procedure”. The research result had showcased and verified a set of design cases which can enrich the experience for adopters, such as triggering positive emotion, gaining good impression and increase the willingness for the adoption.
