This thesis aims to understand the concepts and principles of green design thinking by reviewing literature in this field, and based on the uncovered principles, carry out case analysis of green packaging. This study will integrate the human, economic and environmental facets of green packaging design, and using simple design rules, reduce the use of new packaging materials and explore renewable/reusable materials. In accordance with these principals, the design goal is to explore paper packaging material that can quickly decompose and be recycled. Through water-soluble paper saponification tests, to develop a formula for green packaging, using water as a binder, soap, and a stacked incorporated water-soluble paper. Looking at literature and interviews, this study surveyed the development status and plight of Shetou’s hosiery industry. Facing rising raw material prices and wages, Shetou’s hosiery industry has struggled to upgrade, but has found itself trapped by traditional thinking. Many people in the business show little awareness of branding and marketing. Although the company in case study created a brand, it is still in a dilemma. Applied the result of this study experiment, green packaging, to a case in the hosiery industry. In addition, we designed a new brand identity for the company and related product packaging which presents a simple, natural, and healthy brand image. We hope that this case study and re-branding project can help revitalize this company and present fresh directions and ideas to the Shetou hosiery industry. Ming-Chin Yang 楊明津 學位論文 ; thesis 0 zh-TW
