The Association of Southeast Asian Nations is established to formulate regional policies to enhance competitiveness of its member states in the global arena. Free trade zone and tariff reduction in various industries are to be expected in short coming future. Sniffing the potential of this regional collaboration, China also announces to create ASEAN 10 plus 1 free trade zone (ACFTA). Clearly, it is very important for foreign small and middle enterprise owners in Thailand to grasp the potential of this great regional trend. This research will use L Company, a Taiwanese SME in Thailand as an example to indicate how foreign SMEs can evolve its strategies to grasp new opportunities as well as withstand new coming threat.
