Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 管理學院經營管理EMBA專班 === 103 === In the second half of 2011, many parts of Thailand were flooded for as long as four months. It was the worst flood in more than fifty years of Thai history and Siam Pacific (SP) was one of the affected corporations in this flood. In the six months (Oct. 20, 2011 to March 2, 2012) during and after the flood, the manufacturing plant was unable to produce anything. In a situation like this, how do we handle the crisis management? Customers are all affected by the flood, how do we manage the supply chain? Also, after the flood was over, SP had considered to let Thailand become the operation center, and to centralize purchasing, so what factors have to be considered for these changes to become a reality? This study followed the Harvard case study method and examined the following four issues related to Siam Pacific management, like crisis management during the natural disaster, supply chain management, building of the operations center, and centralized purchasing. The related persons are interviewed for major issues of this study, then each issue will be examined and reviewed in detail.
