Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 製造科技研究所 === 103 === The purpose of this paper is to investigate the drop test response of protective case of smart phone in three different shapes. The finite element technique was used to analyze the dynamic stresses, impact G value and energy absorption during impact. The optimal design parameters of protective case structure subject to drop impact were also investigated using the Taguchi method. The main control factors selected were shape, material, shell thickness and fillet. The quality objectives considered were Von-Mises stress and energy absorption. Finally, the TOPSIS evaluation procedure was also performed to search the optimum design parameters based on quality objective of both Von-Mises stress and energy absorption. In this case study, the preliminary results show that the capability of energy absorption of protective case is cover case, followed by backdoor case and frame bumper case. In addition, the results based on optimal design parameters show that the Von-Mises stress reduce 7.68% and the energy absorption increased 31.05% as compared to the original design.
