Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 製造科技研究所 === 103 === A centrifugal fan for the cooling module is a key component for laptop PCs. This paper mainly deals with design and analysis of this fan, using ASUS A6000V NB as the object of the investigation. The study focuses at the improvement of the fan efficiency as well as the geometric dimensions. In the study, it has been found that the efficiency of the fan used in the target NB is only 27%, which is quite low. The study adopted CFD and a Taguchi method to analyze several fan parameters and determined that NACA 8411 air-foil blade is the optimal. By comparing 3D flow fields, flow separation that is due to geometric constraints has been significantly improved. As a result, the efficiency can reach 45% at the operation point. In the meantime, the manufacturability of these blades is also taken in to account. Furthermore, experimental study that complies with AMCA 210-99 has been also carried out and found quite consistent with those of simulations.
