Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 電子工程系研究所 === 103 === With the progress of technology, we have more and more smart devices connecting to high-speed Internet (Wi-Fi &; 3G/4G) in our daily life. However, we suffer from limited (1) network bandwidth, (2) processing performance, (3) battery life at our handheld devices. To improve the quality of traditional file sharing, we try hard ameliorating the protocol of BitTorrent file sharing by the Bluetooth ad-hoc network.
We propose the Neighboring Resource Sharing Mechanism (NRSM), make the Location-based Service Server to record Peer ID, GPS information and the proportion of resources. Gathering these data as Location List, and then compare to the Peer List. As a result, we can get the Neighbor List, and the next step is find the best neighbor peer with max proportion of resources. When we get the best neighbor peer, we will do the complete or part BitTorrent file sharing by the Bluetooth ad-hoc network. Through experimental results obtained at the expense of about from 5% to 10% of the download time, can save more than 70% of the battery life consumed at least. The results prove that NRSM can achieve the target to decrease power consumption on the handheld device.
