At present, test equipment for building a MIMO OTA chamber is dominated by certain companies with the result that the expense of testing cannot be lowered, and this is a barrier to entry for other players. Therefore, in this thesis we try to disrupt such industry dominance by replacing the LTE-A base station signal generator with programmed software defined radio (SDR). Firstly, we program SFBC (Space Frequency Block Code) as well as LTE-A OFDM (Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) functions onto the transmitter part of NI Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) in LabVIEW while implementing the LTE-A base station signal generator. To emulate the wireless fading channel, the channel emulator which creates SCME UMa/UMi channel models for SFBC-OFDM signals coming from the transmitter part of USRP, and we program the receiver part of USRP to successfully recover the SFBC-OFDM signals together with performance evaluations. The use of software defined radio platform can not only provide flexibility for function reconfiguration but also lower the cost, such that to lower the entry barrier of the MIMO OTA industry. 林信標 學位論文 ; thesis 0
