Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 有機高分子研究所 === 103 === Phosphor can be made into powder and be suspended in epoxy resin to form phosphor resin. The amount of phosphor contain can thus be adjusted to optimize the color intensity efficiency (CIE), correlated color temperature (CCT) and color-rendering index (CRI) of the light emitting diode (LED). During the fabricating process, the phosphor resin deposited on the LED die, so that the resin fills the PPA cup-shaped depression in which the LED die is located. A fraction of the blue light is absorbed by the phosphor and is re-emitted as longer-wavelength light ranging from 450nm to 490nm. The adjustments indicate that various amount of phosphor epoxy resin deposited on the LED die will lead to different CIE and CCT results.
Furthermore, rare earth element (REE) epoxy resin tends to have similar concentration to phosphor suspended in the epoxy, both determine the relative strengths of the two epoxies and there is no limitation to CRI performance. Nowadays, there are several commercial companies developing white LEDs for illumination applications and they also ensure the LED products met requirements to be labeled as energy saving products. This study helps with selection of the appropriate phosphorus content so on to optimize CIE and CCT performance.
