碩士 === 基督教台灣浸會神學院 === 基督教神學研究所 === 103 === The purpose of this study is to discuss the process of religious conversion of two homosexuals. The researcher has used the semi-structured interview method of qualitative research, discussing the three research questions below: 1. What are the crucial points for homosexuals to seek for help? 2. During the process of religious conversion, how did the homosexuals choose to abandon the life of homosexuality? 3. How did the homosexuals convert to Christianity? According to the content of the interview, the researcher has noticed that the religious conversion for homosexuals has been connected to the quality of their lives in homosexuality. When the inteviewees suffered from their lives in homosexuality, or when they found out the values in homosexual culture are different from theirs, they started to think about another way of living. This quite often resulted in leaving the life of homosexuality. On the other hand, interventions from ex-homosexuals would help homosexuals on converting to Christianity. This is because although homosexuals would like to change the style of homosexual life, they may not know if there would be a way for them to change. Ex-homosexuals may help the homosexuals to understand that converting to Christianity can be a way for them to change their lives. Also, homosexuals may have known that God dislikes homosexuality through reading the Bible and prayer; therefore, they may try to leave the lifestlyle of homosexuality. However, knowing God dislikes homosexuality may not be enough reinforcement for homosexuals to leave homosexual life. Other than knowledge, they would need to experience the love from God in church life. During the process of knowing Christianity, fellowship in church plays an importment role of allowing homosexuals to experience the love from God. When homosexuals feel accepted and loved, they would shift their focus to the life that God likes and seek for other ways to fulfill their emotional needs instead of continuing their lives among homosexuals. Finally, according to the research results, the researcher has given advises to churches and future researchers. Hopefully the advises will help churches formulate tactics on delivering the gospel to homosexuals and shepherding them, as well as help future researchers engage further studies on related topics.
