This means a total increase of 352 units or 3.0% in nearly 5 years. By the religious subsector, the largest group is Taoist temple or 78.2%, followed by the Buddhist Temple which is about 19.6%; by the district subsector, Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung each have more than one thousand temples, total up nearly 35%. Through statistics show that too many temples at Taiwan and these temples have worships statues for people of faith. These statues are made by craftsmen, who are small group and their skills are slowly disappearing. Recent years, the Government promotes cultural heritage conservation. Cultural heritage consists of tangible culture and intangible culture. Intangible cultural heritage can be called as "non-material cultural heritage", safeguarding non-material cultural heritage. In 2003, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO)adopted the convention for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage. This went into effect in 2006 aimed to promote for cultural diversity and respect human creativity. With this creation, through humanistic image records and depth reporting that a person, who is “Western Buddhist – Master Cai Tian Min ", he be known as a preservation of traditional arts by Tainan City Government in year 2012. Master Cai Tian Min was born from " Art of makeup Buddha family" and his family has engage the job about a hundred years ago. Master Cai is more than 80 years old. He already engages in “Art of makeup Buddha” more than six decades. He devoted himself entirely in “Art of makeup Buddha ". He still continues to uphold the ancient carving method and continue the fine tradition of spirit. It can be described as "a national treasure Condor heroes." This feature news report is about Master Cai Tian Min, one of the oldest craftman in Buddha sculpture, and much of his emotional attachment in the process of carving statues are presented in this report. We can see how the craftsmen do at all costs with heart and dedication in " Art of makeup Buddha ". They follow the traditional skill to complete each work! Master Cai Tian Min concluded four experiences in his years of sculpture: First, the investment of time background work; Second, pay attention to the carving skill; Three, Master Cai how to treat his work; Fourth, list out the expectations and opinions by Master Cia of the "Art of makeup Buddha". This news feature could record the contribution of traditional craft man in their skills and tradition, through documenting all the important information and indescribable hardship. This production will provide a good insight to our audiences and future generation can have a better understanding of the sculpting process. It allows our audiences to look back at the past on how the elders step by step deepen the roots of Taiwanese culture.
