The whole system is developed based on the Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol. With this system, someone who is interested to the vehicle electronics can learn basic domain knowledge from the system. The major controller we used is the CS8959 and CS8961 which are developed by the Centry-Myson company. These CAN controllers are utilized and connected to the MCP2551 CAN transceiver to realize a compete CAN node. In additional to the hardware design, we have developed a set of firmware, CAN node sensors, and physical ECUs (Electrical Control Unit) to provide a complete laboratory environment for the practice of vehicle communication networking.
