Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 經營管理研究所 === 103 === Relationships have been reported between employee’s overall job satisfaction and
organizational characteristics. This research integrated the Organizational Diagnosis
Model (ODM) and the Overall Job Satisfaction model to test and analyze the
relationships between seven components of organizational characteristics, including
purposes, structure, relationships, rewards, helpful mechanism, leadership, and attitude
towards change and employee’s overall satisfaction. This study was aimed at
comprehending employee’s overall job satisfaction through a survey, examining the
organizational characteristics that most affect employee’s overall job satisfaction in
three divisions of EVNGENCO2 at Danang city, Vietnam and suggesting solutions to
improve organizational effectiveness and employee’s overall job satisfaction in
EVNGENCO2 as a state-owned enterprise. In the 280 questionnaires distributed to
SB2HPMB, SB4HPMB and AvuongHPC units, 224 responses were screened to be
valid for the statistics analysis. Statistical methods, including descriptive statistics,
correlation analysis and multi regression analysis were applied for statistical analysis. It
was found that organizational effectiveness, i.e. employee’s overall job satisfaction, was
influenced not only by strength of culture, but also by organizational characteristics.
The analysis results revealed that five among seven factors of the research model had
positive effects on employee’s overall job satisfaction and supported the hypotheses.

Among the factors examined, “rewards” and “structure” showed highest impact on the
employee’s overall job satisfaction. However, employee’s overall job satisfaction
seemed not to be influenced by “helpful mechanisms” and “attitude towards change”.
This study, through the investigation of employee’s overall job satisfaction, provides
clear understanding of the organizational characteristics of EVNGENCO2. In addition,
it contributes to the practice of organizational development especially in the electricity
industry, which is a public sector in Vietnam on the road of adopting market mechanism
in the future.
