Millions of people like to communicate with friends online. Therefore, instant messaging apps become convenience tools. Line app is especially popular with teenagers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of junior high school students’ Line app use on interpersonal relationships. This study built the research model by applying the two main constructs: perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in Technology Acceptance Model and adding the perceived joyfulness as the independent variables which have effects on the interpersonal relationships for junior high school students when they use Line.In order to reach the study purpose, 320 questionnaires were expected payment and the effective samples are 330 in total, and junior high school students are the investigative objects. The important findings are conluded as follows. There is obvious positive relationship between perceived joyfulness and perceived ease of use. The easier the instant messaging apps are, the strongerusers’perceived usefulness may occur. Users thought that if instant messaging apps are more interesting, easier, and more useful, the frequency of use will be higher. The average use frequncy of instant messaging apps each day are higher, the relationship with friends and family is better.The study result shows that comparedwithchatting with friends on Line app,junior high school students lesschat withtheir familymembers on Line.Therefore, based on the research results, suggestionsare offered. The app developers should thoroughlyinvestigate junior high shool students’interpersonal relationship, except the relationship with their friends.Hence, effectivelyand positivelypromote their interpersonal relationship when they use Line.
