The proposed solar power generation system contains the solar power converter, the feedback circuit, sensor device, and using perturbation and observation method for maximum power point tracking algorithm. The automatic sun tracking system uses compass to check azimuth angle and tilt angle for photovoltaic, read time data from real time clock(RTC) to calculate solar trajectory and drive step-motor let photovoltaic rotate to solar position. The proposed solar power generation system adjusts the operating point by using maximum power point tracking algorithm to improve the output power. To verify the performances of the proposed system. The proposed solar power generation system was compared with solar power generation system without automatic sun tracking function, the systems were set up and test on the roof of our department.
