Summary: | 碩士 === 世新大學 === 行政管理學研究所(含博、碩專班) === 103 === With the policy goal of government that establishing more and more colleges, the colleges in Taiwan are being set up widely. However, due to the tendency of few children, Taiwan is suffering from some crises such as lack of source of students, financial issues and teaching quality improvement. Because of the cross-strait exchanges, the number of short-term exchange students from China increases every day. Driven by the tendency of internationalization of education, colleges of Taiwan are required to focus more on strengthen educational resources, improvement of school satisfaction degree and their competitiveness.
This paper takes short-term exchange students from China in Shih Hsin University as the object of study. It discusses the differences in satisfaction level of learning and three perspectives of short-term exchange students from China during their school time, which based on their classes and teaching, study life, administrative services and equipment and can help us to understand the factors affect the satisfaction level of learning. Further, it can provide advice to improve relative issues over the development of study service of short-term exchange students from China. This study adopts the questionnaire method. Results 695 questionnaires were sent in total and 565 recalled, the collecting rate was 81.3%, 555 questionnaire are effective, valid rate was 79.85%. Data were analyzed by statistical approaches like descriptive statistic, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and regression analysis.
The study result shows that, short-term exchange students from China are positive about the overall satisfaction of learning and three perspectives, but when it comes to the satisfaction of “activities of teachers in classes” and “domestic installations and daily-life guidance in students’ dormitory”, the comments are not good which shows there is still room for improvement. Students from China with different background show a bit of differences in “studying life perspective”, and according to the analysis, “courses and teaching” is the most influencing perspective of three to them.
In general, universities should take more effort to improve their course selection system introduction, multi-media facilities, the communication between cross-strait teachers and students and dormitory and service mechanisms. Also, the teachers themselves should adjust their teaching methods and process in order to satisfy the needs of students about study life.
