However, if we just put learning content on the Internet, it will only be a convenience way to get rich learning content. In order to improve the students’ learning motivation, we design an adaptive educational game based on student’s individual e-portfolio. The e-portfolio records the students learning paths, reflections, playing time, tests and answers. The proposed adaptive computer game combines a learning management system to maintain the students’ e-portfolio. To observe the effectiveness of our method, an experiment has been conducted in a freshmen’s course. The students’ learning motivation, learning achievement and satisfaction are examined. The result of experiment showed that our adaptive method has significant effectiveness in improving the students’ learning motivation.
