Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 音樂學系 === 103 === In 19th century, the era of leider were so popular. Composers intended to create their song features with their own national characteristics. Among many composers, Achille-Claude Debussy (1862-1918) played an important role. Unlike other composers of the Romantic period, Debussy’s style of music blended various creative materials. Although songs were not his biggest creative types of music, he left dozens of songs which people have the opportunities to appreciate the brand-new shape of songs that hadn’t appeared before the 19th century. Debussy utilized different sects of poems within his songs in each period. Moreover, the author contacts with works of Debussy songs for the first time. Consequently, by the song of Debussy’s early stage, “Seven poems by Banville” (Sept Poèms de Banville, 1984), it is to understand the idea of creative work and the characteristics of composing through Parnassian and poet Theodor de Banville (1823-1891) in terms of the background of composing. Through this study, the author aims to strengthen the interpretation of vocalist within performing and the usage of the idea of music for the investigation of the background and the musical analysis in the work, Seven poems by Banville.
