He combined new technique with traditional Form and also created center-tone theory. In Hindemith’s “Clarinet Concerto in A and Orchestra (1947)” shows these Neo-Classicism style and his unique compositions. “Clarinet Concerto in A and Orchestra (1947)” for Benny Goodman (1909-1986) is completed in 1947 and premiered in 1950 in Philadelphia. The thesis is entitled “The Analysis and Interpretation of Concerto for Clarinet in A and Orchestra (Piano Reduction) by Paul Hindemith” and comprised of three chapters. The 1st chapter reveals research motivation and purposes. The 2nd chapter introduces the life of Hindemith and the style of his compositions in different periods. The 3rd chapter presents formal analysis and performance interpretation of Hindemith’s Clarinet Concerto in A and Orchestra.
